Description
The Nylon Webbing Sling 10 Ton is a heavy-duty flat duplex lifting sling manufactured from 100% nylon (polyamide) webbing, purpose-built for applications where shock loading, dynamic movement, or repeated flexing make polyester’s lower elongation less suitable. Where a polyester sling stretches only 3-4% under load, this nylon webbing sling absorbs shock through 8-10% elongation, making it the preferred choice for crane operators and riggers working with sudden load transfers, wind-affected lifts, or vibration-heavy machinery handling.
Working Load Limit (WLL): 10 tonnes (straight lift, 0°), reducing to approximately 8t in choker hitch and up to 20t in a basket hitch configuration, depending on sling angle.
Safety factor: 7:1, in line with EN 1492-1 requirements for textile webbing slings — every Nylon Webbing Sling 10 Ton undergoes proof-load testing before leaving our Ismailia facility.
Minimum breaking strength: 70 tonnes.
Webbing width: 300mm, woven from continuous-filament nylon yarn for consistent load distribution along the full sling body.
Material: 100% nylon (polyamide) webbing and stitching thread, chosen specifically over polyester for its superior elasticity, energy-absorption characteristics, and resistance to repeated flexing fatigue.
Elongation at rated load: Approximately 8-10%, meaning this sling behaves more like a shock absorber than a rigid strap — a genuine advantage when lifting loads that swing, bounce, or transfer suddenly during a lift.
Standard: Manufactured to EN 1492-1, the European standard governing flat woven textile slings, covering construction, labelling, and minimum breaking load ratios.
Common applications: Precast concrete handling, machinery installation where sudden load shifts occur, marine and offshore lifting where wave motion introduces dynamic loading, and any rigging scenario where surface protection (this sling will not mark or scratch delicate, coated, or machined surfaces) matters as much as strength.
Available configurations: The Nylon Webbing Sling 10 Ton is available in custom lengths to order, and in 1 to 4-ply configurations depending on your required capacity and webbing stiffness preference. Multi-ply construction increases load-bearing capacity while keeping the sling flexible enough to conform to irregular load shapes.
Colour coding: Nylon webbing slings follow the same colour-coded capacity system used across our polyester range for quick visual WLL identification on site, reducing the risk of an incorrect sling being selected under time pressure.
Care and inspection: Like all textile slings, this nylon sling should be inspected before each use for cuts, abrasion, chemical damage, or stitching failure, and taken out of service immediately if any webbing fibres are visibly damaged or if the WLL label becomes illegible.
Every Nylon Webbing Sling 10 Ton is manufactured in-house at Sling Force’s Ismailia facility under strict quality control, with full traceability from raw yarn through to finished, proof-tested sling. Contact us with your required length and ply count for a formal quotation.
