Description
The Green Pin® Swivel Eye Hook is a forged lifting hook fitted with a free-rotating swivel eye and a safety latch, designed to allow controlled rotation of a load under lifting without twisting the sling or chain it’s attached to. This makes it a common choice wherever a load needs to be rotated into position during a lift, or where preventing torque transfer back into the rigging is important for safety and rope/chain longevity.
Construction and design: The hook body is drop-forged from high-tensile steel for strength and fatigue resistance, and the swivel eye is mounted on a thrust bearing (or bushing, depending on model) that allows the hook to rotate freely under load rather than binding — a critical difference from a fixed eye, which can transfer twisting forces directly into the sling leg.
Safety latch: A spring-loaded safety latch closes the hook throat, preventing the sling, chain, or shackle from accidentally disengaging during the lift — a standard safety feature expected on modern rigging hooks used in professional lifting operations.
Typical applications: Crane block attachment, chain sling termination, general rigging where a load needs to rotate freely without twisting the sling leg, and any lifting operation where controlled load orientation matters.
