Description
Bridon Tiger® Full Lock / Half Lock Guide Ropes are engineered for mine shaft guide rope applications, where the cage or skip is guided along fixed ropes running the length of the shaft to keep its movement controlled and stable during hoisting.
What guide ropes do: Unlike hoist ropes, which bear the lifting load, guide ropes run vertically along a mine shaft and pass through guide devices on the cage or skip, keeping it correctly aligned and preventing excessive swing or sway as it travels up and down the shaft — an important safety function in deep shaft mining.
Full Lock vs Half Lock construction: Locked-coil rope constructions use shaped (rather than round) outer wires that interlock with one another, creating a smooth outer surface with excellent resistance to abrasion and crushing — “full lock” uses shaped wires around the full outer layer, while “half lock” uses a combination, offering different balances of flexibility and surface protection depending on the specific shaft guide application.
Typical applications: Mine shaft guide rope systems on cage and skip winding installations.
Manufacturing and quality: Manufactured by Bridon-Bekaert with full mill certification and test documentation supplied with every reel.
