Description
Bridon Dyform® SeaPurse is a specially designed purse seine wire featuring large outer wires for increased abrasion resistance, with a smooth outer surface suited to running through purse rings during commercial fishing operations.
What purse seine wire does: Purse seine fishing uses a large wall of netting drawn closed at the bottom by a wire running through a series of rings (the “purse line”) — this wire is subject to constant running friction against the purse rings and repeated cycles of tensioning and release as the net is deployed and hauled.
Why large outer wires matter: Larger outer wires increase the wear surface of the rope, directly improving resistance to the abrasive wear this application generates as the wire runs repeatedly through the purse rings under load.
IWRC vs PolyCore: Available with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) for higher strength and crush resistance, or a PolyCore (synthetic) core for greater flexibility and additional internal corrosion protection in continuous saltwater exposure.
Typical applications: Commercial fishing vessels using purse seine net systems.
Manufacturing and quality: Manufactured by Bridon-Bekaert with full mill certification and test documentation supplied with every reel.
